It is a great way to get your items fast and to have the option of paying for it over a long period of time for when it better suits you. Essentially, you can purchase an item today and pay for it later.
How does Afterpay work?
Afterpay is fully integrated with the House checkout, so all you need to do is select Afterpay as your payment option when you’re ready to buy.
To make a purchase using Afterpay you need:
- A valid debit or credit card
- An Australian residential address
- To be over 18 years old
To make it easier to understand, we have listed a four step guide to for your first time using Afterpay:
Step 1: Select Afterpay as your payment option on the checkout page
The first time you use Afterpay, you will have to provide the usual payment details to complete your purchase. Next time, you will only need to log into your account at the checkout and the rest will be taken care of.
Step 2: Chose how you want to pay your instalments
Afterpay will split your payments over four equal instalments due every fortnight. You will need to nominate the credit or debit card you wish to use. Your payments will be scheduled and taken automatically every two weeks using this payment method.
Step 3: get approved instantly and securely
There are no credit checks or long forms to fill out. Afterpay only uses your nominated bank account to process your application on the spot.
Step 4: Enjoy your purchase!
After you check out with Afterpay, we will process your order and send your items for you to enjoy. Afterpay will remind you when payments are due and will process your payments automatically. It’s as simple as that!
Is Afterpay secure and safe?
Yes. Afterpay is completely safe and used by many leading online Australian retailers. Afterpay is a PCI DSS Level 1 certified compliant serve provider organisation. PCI DSS is a comprehensive set of requirements created by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council to enhance cardholder’s data security and to ensure the safe handling and storage of customer credit card information.
This is the highest level of security in the payment industry.
The funds for the first payment must be available on your chosen card at the time of purchase. For first time Afterpay users, the first payment is taken at the time of the transaction, with the remaining three payments taken each fortnight over the next 6 weeks.
For all future orders with Afterpay after the first purchase, the initial payment will be debited from your account 14 days after the transaction.
If have insufficient funds available for the automatic fortnightly deductions on the due dates you will be charged a late fee of $10 and if the payment remains overdue, an additional $7 late fee will be charged 1 week later.
